Cocomira’s ‘Maple Crunch’ has been selected as a Silver Finalist for Outstanding Confection in the 2010 sofi™ Awards from the National Association for the Specialty Food Trade. The sofi™ Awards recognize excellence in specialty foods and beverages and are a coveted industry honor.

A national panel of specialty food experts selected Maple Crunch as one of the 125 Silver finalists from 1,570 entries in the competition. “I was so pleased to hear the judges selected Maple Crunch. Our special dark maple syrup, sourced from a family-run sugar bush, gives the product a lot of maple flavor,” says Anna Janes, president of Cocomira Confections Inc.

What could be more quintessentially Canadian than maple syrup? We looked no further than our own backyard to find an Ontario producer of dark maple syrup – the tawny heart of our Maple Crunch. Our toffee is stirred for over an hour - to ensure a rich, nutty flavor is achieved, with an underlying hint of maple sweetness. It’s then covered in Belgian milk chocolate and finished with freshly roasted pecans, almonds and just a sprinkle of maple syrup crystals. Mmmm – Canada in a box has never tasted so good.

Maple Crunch is made using the following ingredients: toffee (butter, sugar, maple syrup, water, salt, natural maple flavor), Belgian milk chocolate (sugar, cocoa butter, full cream milk powder, cocoa mass, soya lecithin, vanilla), pecans, almonds.

No artificial flavors or colors, no preservatives or additives, no high-fructose corn syrup, no gluten and no egg.
